Robots, Fantasy, and Steampunk: 2 short Stories
If you're into to Steampunk, Ted Chiang has two excellent stories showing off his background as a computer scientist. There are plenty of other great stories in his two collections, where the topics range from the multiverse to aliens (yes, the scifi movie Arrival is based on Stories of Your Life), While not all robots, these stories deserve a hallowed spot in everyone's scifi collection.
"Seventy-Two Letters" in Stories of Your Life and Others by Ted Chiang reconceptualizes the Golem as a tape-based Turing Machine robot, combining real computer science with a Kabbalistic twist.
"Dacey's Patent Automatic Nanny" in Exhalation: Stories by Ted Chiang is a disturbing bon mot about a Steampunk nanny. See the longer article on robot mothers in Science Robotics.
